In addition to our minister, the UUSO has a professional staff of key individuals who provide essential services on a regular basis. Volunteers from within the congregation contribute thousands of hours of their time each year in support of the UUSO, but we found that there are particular areas where hiring people onto our staff results in a win-win situation. Other than the minister, all of our staff members work part-time. We actively work with our staff to maintain good relations through regular reviews and an "open door" policy.
